Stadium Tour
About the project
Stadium Tour by Colin Fallowfield was accepted to the 2009 playGround student play festival at York University. This short play is about three young men fulfilling their bucket list dream of a whirlwind baseball stadium tour whilst coming to terms with adulthood and change.
As the Director I facilitated the creative process working closely with all aspects of the production to ensure production quality and artistic integrity. As a new play being produced for the first time, I advised the playwright through the dramaturgical process and collaborated on changes and additions to assist in character, theme and plot development.
This was first solo Directing assignment and was a tremendous learning experience. I learned a lot about managing rehearsal process within a larger production schedule, managing designers and communicating creative vision, working with technicians and facilitating the collaboration between different artist types. Most importantly, I learned from the mistakes made in the process and was able to approach my future direction positions with much more experience and confidence.
